Brighton, 17 November 2016
The first CulturalBase local workshop took place at the University of Sussex, Brighton, United Kingdom. The programme was built on the comments that participants had provided to a series of pre-workshop questions on their concerns, priorities and best practices regarding the protection and promotion of heritage.
The workshop had an informal structure, a laboratory model aiming to draw on collective experience and test various ideas through collective work. The experts identified and then explored three key areas:
1- Heritage discourses (how heritage is being discussed)
2- Governance and decision-making (how and why heritage is being governed)
3- Collaboration among stakeholders
